About This CSCS Mock Test
This free CSCS mock test for 2026 contains 50 multiple-choice questions drawn from across all the core health and safety topics covered in the real CITB HS&E test. The questions are randomised on each attempt, so you will get a different test every time you take it.
The mock test is designed to simulate the real exam experience as closely as possible:
- 50 questions per test (same as the real HS&E exam)
- Timer tracks your time (the real test allows 45 minutes)
- 90% pass mark — you need 45 out of 50 to pass (same as the Operatives test)
- Instant feedback with explanations for every answer
- No registration required — start practising immediately

How to Use This Mock Test
- Set aside 45 minutes — time yourself as you would in the real test
- Read each question carefully — all four options may sound plausible, but only one is the best answer
- Do not rush — 45 minutes is plenty of time for 50 questions
- Review your results — pay special attention to the explanations for questions you got wrong
- Retake the test — the questions are randomised, so each attempt is different
Tips for Passing the Real CSCS Test
- Study the revision materials — especially the CITB revision book
- Take multiple mock tests — aim to consistently score 47+ before booking the real test
- Focus on your weak areas — use the topic-specific tests to drill down on subjects you struggle with
- Understand the reasoning — do not just memorise answers. Understanding why an answer is correct helps you handle unfamiliar questions
- Learn the legislation — know the key regulations (WAH 2005, COSHH 2002, LOLER 1998, CDM 2015, PUWER 1998)
On the day of your real HS&E test, arrive at the Pearson VUE test centre at least 15 minutes early. You will need to present valid photo ID (passport or driving licence). No phones, notes or other materials are allowed in the test room. The test is conducted on a computer with a touchscreen.
